Brookline High’s boys cross-country team improved to 6-0 with a 21-38 victory over Weymouth in Bay State Conference competition Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The Warriors placed four runners in the top five. Ibrahim Abdel-Dayem finished second in 14:36, five seconds behind Weymouth’s Patrick Geagan, who won in 14:31. Brookline’s Liam Hartmann followed in third at 14:37, Elias Thomasson took fourth in 14:41 and Matt Ritter finished fifth in 14:55.

Weymouth’s Andrew Himmer crossed sixth in 14:59. Brookline’s Nam Danh and Noah Karp also finished in the top 10, posting times of 15:06 and 15:07, respectively.

Brookline’s four leading runners finished within 19 seconds of one another, demonstrating the depth coach Mike Glennon highlighted in a MassLive preseason preview.

The victory moved the Warriors to 3-0 in the Carey Division as they pursue a fifth consecutive state championship. The MIAA confirmed Brookline’s fourth straight title after the Warriors won the Division 1 championship in November 2025.

Weymouth girls take the top three places

Weymouth won the girls’ meet 24-33, dropping Brookline to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in Carey Division competition.

Hailey Schrader and Sonia Souto led Weymouth with matching times of 17:43. Natalie McInnis finished third in 17:48, completing the home team’s sweep of the first three places.

Brookline’s Madelyn Carpenter and Charlotte Doench followed in fourth and fifth, both finishing in 17:59, according to the MassLive meet results.

The Warriors’ next four finishers crossed within four seconds of one another. Josephine Schneider and Leena Bhandari-Cordoba each ran 18:34, followed by Hannah Tipton in 18:37 and Noga Livneh in 18:38.

Brookline’s closely grouped finishers could not overcome Weymouth’s advantage at the front of the race.
