Brookline Day returns to Coolidge Corner on Sunday with food trucks, bounce houses

Brookline Day returns to Coolidge Corner on Sunday, Sept. 27, bringing food trucks, bounce houses and a kids' zone to Harvard Street.

The annual festival runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Brookline Recreation, which organizes the event, has posted vendor and activity details on its event page.

Harvard Street will be closed from Beacon Street to Williams Street for the festival, according to the Brookline Police Department.

What to eat

Five food vendors are confirmed so far: Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck, Trolley Dogs Food Truck, Grandy's Ice Cream Trucks, Bocadillos and Café Itadaki. The full vendor list was still being finalized as of Thursday, Sept. 24.

Kids and families

The KIDZ Zone will include face painting, hair extensions, glitter and airbrush tattoos, an inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses, inflatable slides and inflatable football and basketball toss games.

Mini Town Hall

About 20 town offices and organizations will set up tables in a "Mini Town Hall" section, including the Town Administrator's Office, the Select Board, the Planning Department, the Public Library of Brookline, the Town Clerk's Office and the Brookline Council on Aging. A separate Public Safety section will feature the Brookline Police Department, Brookline Fire Department and the Office of Emergency Management.

Town Administrator Chas Carey gave the festival a nod in the town's September newsletter, writing that "Brookline Day … will hopefully provide many positive omens for a fruitful MLB playoff season for the Red Sox."

A Brookline tradition

The festival debuted in 2012 at Larz Anderson Park, according to the town's Council on Aging newsletter that year. It has since moved to Coolidge Corner, where it fills the stretch of Harvard Street between Beacon and Williams streets each fall.

Beacon Bank is the premier sponsor for the 2026 edition. Silver sponsors include AlbertTaylor Realty, School of Rock and Rooted Dental Company.
