Brookline families with children ages 1 through 18 can get required school vaccines at no cost at two walk-in clinics later this month.

The Brookline Department of Public Health and Human Services, led by Director John Kleschinsky, will hold back-to-school immunization clinics on Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. Both sessions take place in the Denny Room at 11 Pierce St. (basement level). No appointment is needed, though pre-registration is available at brooklinema.gov/1508/Pediatric-Immunization-Clinic.

Spots are first-come, first-served.

What to bring

A parent or guardian must accompany every child, and families must bring a printed copy of the child's existing vaccine records. The clinic announcement labels both requirements mandatory.

Vaccines offered

The clinics cover Hep B, DTaP, Tdap, Polio, Meningitis ACWY, MMR, MMRV, and Varicella. That list aligns with the 2026–2027 Massachusetts school immunization requirements, which mandate five doses of DTaP, four of Polio, three of Hep B, two each of MMR and Varicella for grades K–6, plus a Tdap booster and Meningococcal ACWY dose starting in seventh grade.

Students who are not up to date cannot attend school unless they hold a medical or religious exemption. Massachusetts does not allow philosophical or personal-belief exemptions, and exemptions must be renewed annually.
