Brookline Police want Coolidge Corner shoppers to take a close look at surveillance images of a woman believed to be connected to a larceny and suspected credit card misuse at two neighborhood stores.

The woman was captured on surveillance cameras at the Whole Foods and Sephora in Coolidge Corner in connection with the incidents, according to the Brookline Police Department, as reported Thursday, July 17, by Patch. Police have not disclosed the exact date the alleged crimes occurred, saying only that they happened "recently."

Detectives describe the person of interest as a woman between 50 and 60 years old with blonde hair. She was wearing a white bucket hat, sunglasses, a pink floral shirt, black pants, and white Nike sneakers, and was carrying a tan backpack.

The department stressed that the woman is not considered wanted at this time. Police are seeking to confirm her identity before taking any further steps.

The alert follows a pattern. Brookline Police have issued at least three similar community requests in the past year, each time posting surveillance images and asking residents to help put a name to a face.

In November 2025, the department shared footage of a person who stole a locked scooter from a bike rack behind the Coolidge Corner Theatre. In February 2026, Brookline PD posted on X asking for help identifying two people connected to a separate fraud and larceny case. And in May 2026, detectives circulated an image tied to a shoplifting incident at a Commonwealth Avenue retailer.

In each case, police noted the subject was "not wanted at this time," a phrasing the department uses to signal it is still in the identification phase, not actively pursuing an arrest.
