Brookline Police are asking residents to help identify a man caught on surveillance footage during a shoplifting at a Harvard Street business on Monday, Aug. 3.

The man was recorded at approximately 9:15 a.m., which reported the department's request on Aug. 17. Police described the suspect as between 30 and 40 years old with a tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, gray pants, black and white shoes and glasses, and was carrying a white bag.

The department emphasized that the man is not considered wanted at this time.

Police have not disclosed the specific business where the shoplifting occurred, identifying it only as a Harvard Street location. Anyone who recognizes the man can contact Brookline Police detectives at 617-730-2711.
