The Brookline Community Foundation's annual golf tournament raised more than $175,000 for local youth programs on Thursday, Oct. 8, at The Country Club.

The 27th Annual Brookline Youth Fund Golf Tournament pushed the fund's cumulative total past $2 million since its founding in 1999, according to the foundation. The fund has awarded more than $1.4 million in grants to 55 local organizations over that span.

In 2026 alone, the Youth Fund awarded $113,000 to 14 Brookline organizations providing educational, enrichment and career development opportunities for underserved youth.

Pam Hess, executive director of the Brookline Community Foundation, thanked The Country Club for 27 years of partnership. "I am deeply grateful … to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and donor who helped make this year's tournament such a success," she said in a statement.

Bobby Mahoney, chair of the Brookline Youth Fund Committee, called the tournament a demonstration of sustained community commitment. He said The Country Club has been proud to partner with the foundation for more than 25 years.

The partnership traces to the 1999 Ryder Cup, held at The Country Club in September 1999. After the event, the club seeded the Youth Fund with a $500,000 gift. It has hosted the annual tournament every year since.

The Youth Fund is one piece of the foundation's broader grantmaking. In May, BCF announced $237,300 in Youth Development Grants to 23 nonprofits and community initiatives serving Brookline youth. Those grants drew on both the Youth Fund and two American Rescue Plan Act allocations.

Recipients of the broader May grants included Brookline Teen Center, Steps to Success, the Brookline Early Education Program, METCO Brookline, Puppet Showplace Theater and Abilities Dance Incorporated, among others. The specific 14 organizations funded through the Youth Fund's $113,000 in 2026 grants were not named in the foundation's Oct. 8 announcement.

That total now tops $2 million.

Since 1999, the foundation has invested more than $16 million in local nonprofits and initiatives across all its programs.
