Brookline property owners have until Monday, Nov. 2 to pay their Fiscal Year Quarter 2 real estate and personal property tax bills.
The bills were mailed Sept. 30, according to a town notice. The standard Q2 due date listed on the town's website is Nov. 1; the town set this cycle's deadline as Monday, Nov. 2.
Missing the deadline carries consequences. Under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 60, Section 3, failure to receive a bill does not excuse a late payment, according to the town's Treasurer/Collector page. The town also does not honor postmark dates, according to its online payments page. Payments count as received on the day they arrive.
How to pay
- Online: Through InvoiceCloud, the town's payment processor. Credit cards carry a 2.95% convenience fee with a $1 minimum. Electronic checks cost $0.50.
- Drop box: A locked box at the main entrance to Town Hall, 333 Washington St., available day or night.
- In person: Treasurer/Collector's Office, first floor of Town Hall. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
