Komorebi plans to open its first sit-down restaurant at 1378b Beacon St. in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner, bringing the Revere-based sushi and bento business into a permanent storefront.
The restaurant’s website identifies the new location as Komorebi Oasis and describes a Hinoki wood sushi counter and a kaiseki-inspired dining experience built around seasonal ingredients.
Boston Restaurant Talk reported Oct. 29 that the business began a couple of years ago in Revere, offering pickup and delivery through online ordering. Citing a post in the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group and job advertisements, the blog said the Brookline location would include a counter and dining area.
Hiring is underway. An employer-posted sous chef listing on Indeed describes Komorebi as a Japanese bento and sushi brand preparing to open its first permanent location in Brookline. The advertisement lists Nov. 15 as the employee start date.
That date does not establish when customers can visit. Boston Restaurant Talk suggested a mid-November opening based on the hiring notices, but no confirmed public opening date appears in the sources reviewed.
The restaurant’s website lists Thursday through Sunday hours of noon to 6 p.m.
