Brookline residents can spend an evening exploring local artists, trying their hand at new crafts and meeting fellow creatives when ArtsBrookline's Third Thursdays arts walk returns to Brookline Village on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The monthly event brings several free arts experiences within walking distance of one another. No registration is required, and activities are open to the community.

At Station Street Studios, 17 Station St., Suite 202, artists will open their doors from 5 to 9 p.m. for an open studio night. Visitors can create their own print, watch a beaded-earring demonstration and talk with working artists about their techniques and inspiration. Refreshments will be available, and families with children are welcome.

A few steps away, Feet of Clay Pottery, 21 Station St., will host a free handbuilding pottery class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants can learn basic clay techniques and create their own piece.

At The Village Works, 202 Washington St., the evening continues with a free community coworking and creative writing night from 6 to 8 p.m. The gathering offers a space for writers and creators to work alongside one another and share ideas.

ArtsBrookline, operated by the nonprofit Muddy River Arts Inc., has hosted Third Thursdays throughout the year since 2017 as a way to connect residents with local artists and creative spaces.

Upcoming Third Thursdays are scheduled for Sept. 17 and Oct. 15.
